Recently, I drove down from Bandra to Marine Lines and used the Bandra worli sea link. It was afternoon and pouring heavily so the drive was even much better. I was shocked to see the sea link almost empty the entire stretch, which made me think if the toll on the sea link was too much to pay for mumbaikars?
The current toll, if you wish to use the sea link is Rs 50/- one way and Rs 75/- if you wish to return the same very day. I’m not quite sure as to how many vehicles use the sea link on a daily basis but I’m assuming if the toll prices are reduced, there might be many people who will start using the sea link.
The toll prices to enter Mumbai, like the dahisar check naka, or the Vashi toll naka are roughly the same amount, which is Rs 30/-. Now this amount is charged to use all the flyovers in the city. Basically to use all the infrastructure of the city, you pay Rs 30/- and to use the sea link just once, you land up paying Rs 50/-.
Do you feel the toll of Rs 50/- is justified?

Yup, it it too high… It should be Rs 50 both ways. One way Rs 30.
On the other hand, maybe not. The sealink is completely different from toll nakas..
