Mumbai is famous for its local trains transport system. To make things better, Mumbai will soon get the Metro rails connecting suburbs which are not already connected by the local trains. The Mumbai metro project started in 2006 when Dr. Manmohan Singh laid the foundation stone. With the looks of it, the Metro will take at least another 2 years to get completed (Still partially).
Just like the existing railway (Western line, central line, harbour line) the Mumbai metro will also have 3 lines

Versova – Andheri – Ghatkopar corridor (for which work has already begun)

Bandra – Kurla – Mankhurd corridor
The main plan of the Metro rail is to provide connectivity to everyone in mumbai. No matter where in Mumbai you are, you should be able to be connected to the rail network.
The total cost of the Mumbai metro works upto Rs 36,000 crore and the total length will be 146.5 Km.
the work is too slow you can see the metro in dubai work started and finesh in two year why cant we do this .dubai metro is without driver but mumbai metro is with driver we are also advance but we can compact with other countries.where finishing is too good but mumbai finishing wil not so good compare to dubai
