Terror attacks in Mumbai are very common and have become a routine in the common man’s life. It is a known fact that when ever Mumbai has come under a terrorist attack, the whole of Mumbai comes together to help those affected and the city bounces back the very next day – This is the spirit of Mumbai.

In the last couple of years, the terrorist activities have increased and every year there are bomb blasts in Mumbai. Some of the famous Terrorist attacks in Mumbai include the following:

  • 1993 Mumbai Blasts – The 1993 Mumbai blasts were the first serial blasts that rocked Mumbai city. There were 13 coordinated attacks, the most destructive in Mumbai history.   • December 2002 Ghatkopar blast – The bombing occurred on the 10th anniversary of the demolition of Babri Masjid. The bomb was places in an empty BEST bus that killed 2 people.
  • 27 January 2003 – A mild bomb that went off on a bicycle in Vile Parle, killing 1

  • 14 March 2003 – Bomb went off in a train in Mulund, killing 10

  • 28 July 2003 – Bomb went off in a bus in Ghatkopar, killing 4

  • 25 August 2003 – Two Bombs go off in cars near the Gateway of India and Zaveri Bazaar, killing 50

  • 11 July 2006 – Unlike earlier blasts, this was a series of seven bombs that went off off in local trains during peak hours killing 209 people and leaving many injured.Mumbai Train Blasts in 2006

  • 26 November 2008 to 29 November 2008 (also referred to as 26/11) – One of the deadliest attacks in Mumbai that rocked the entire nation. The attacks began on 26th November and lasted till 29th November. 10 men from Pakistan came to Mumbai and put the city on high alert for 3 whole days. Ajmal Kasab was the only terrorist captured alive and he is still in police custody. Mumbai Taj attacked in 2008

  • 13 July 2011 – Yet another bomb blast in Mumbai. 3 blasts within 10 minutes at various locations i.e. Zaveri Bazaar, Opera House and Dadar Kabooter Khanna. The blasts claimed 26 lives and injured more than 130.Blasts in Khau Gully Mumbai
