April 2nd 2011 will go down in the history of the Cricket Calendar, as India defeated Sri Lanka and won the Cricket World Cup 2011, which will held at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. The last time, Indians lifted this trophy was in 1983.
Indians around the world enjoyed this historic moment, but the scene at Carter road, Mumbai was totally different after the match. It felt as if the entire Mumbai was at carter road. People were hanging outside their cars waving the tricolor Indian flag, whistling away. Some of them even managed to arrange for drums.
Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan also couldn’t resist himself from taking a drive at Carter road, so even he was spotted and the public went crazy taking pictures. Unfortunately, MagicalMumbai couldn’t take a picture of Shah Rukh Khan.
People climbed on the roof of B.E.S.T buses and were dancing.
This was a moment, which is possible only in a city like Mumbai – no where would you see so many people come out on the streets to celebrate the nations victory.
Below are some of the pictures from Carter Road, Mumbai.
