We had reported earlier about the increase in auto rickshaw fare in Mumbai. The prices have gone by Rs 2/- for the first 1.6 Km. Here is the new revised auto tariff card w.e.f June 2010
Update Oct 2011: The Auto Unions want an increase in the Auto fare and with the recent News, the government has accepted their demands and the auto fares will be hiked very soon. The base fare of Rs 11/- has remained same, but there will be a 50paise increment in every kilometer travelled.
Below is the new auto tariff for Mumbai w.e.f October 17′ 2011. Even though the new rate if your meter reading is 1.1 will be Rs 12.5, you will have to shell out Rs 13/- since 50paise coins are almost out of circulation.
How to calculate the New auto fare (Calculation)
(Meter Reading * 14) – 3 and round it off.
For eg: if you want to find out the fare if the meter reads 3.2
(3.2 * 14) – 3 = 44.8 – 3 = 41.8 and rounding it off is 42
There, now you don’t need a printout – you just open your mobile calculator and you can find the exact tariff.

I’d like to know, if the base fare is 11, what is the increase for every additional km. Correspondingly, what is the increase in or rate at which your meter rises per km.
Also, how does the meter work or increase when stationary, as in a traffic jam.

Here is the formula calculate
=Round OFF( ((Meter reading) * 1.4 ) – 3 )
e.g. Meter reading = 7.7
Fare = (7.7 * 1.4 ) – 3 = 104.8 ~ 105
Just open the calculator to calculate it
For every 200 meter 1 unit will fell
If its showing 2.3 the distance u had traveled is 23 * 200 = 4600 meter = 4.6KM.

If its showing 2.3 the distance u had traveled is 23 * 160 = 3680 meter = 3.68KM.

Hi, the above chart is only for CNG Auto Rickshaws. Please provide us with the fares of Petrol Auto Rickshaws. (I believe the minimum fare for Petrol Rickshaws is Rs. 15)
This chart is incorrect.
The newspapers say for CNG its Rs 11 for the first 1.6 km and Rs 7 for every subsequent km. So, for instance if you have done 11.6 km in CNG auto, the fare should be Rs 11 for the first 1.6km and Rs 7 * 10km = Rs 70 for the next 10kms. So, the total should be Rs 81 only. The above shows the bill will be close to Rs 160.

When they increse the fare they do not even think about normal public’s pocket, they are making money with all these autowala’s who are the most arrongant humans with common person.
Generally they are not ready to go where the passanger want to go, their fare card is always fake and meters are always fast.
this is the open CHORI which government is promoting by exploiting normal public, i was not aware that there is one more hike in fare on 17th Oct 2011, one auto wala told me while paying him, he was so arrogant to tell me that” hum log strike karte hai to hamara badhata hai, aap log bhi strike karo aapka pagar bhi badh jayega, hum log kya wapas 3 mahine me strike pe beth jayenge”, that was horrifiying that how these peoples are making so called intilligent Govt, fool.
I prefer to be slave of Britishers than the Government atleast in the kingdom of Britishers we have better facilities and infrastructure, but in the kingdom of our Indian Government we are only getting cheated every moment.

above tariff card & auto rickshaw tariff rate is very difference.
i.e for 47 – 60 Rs.
but there tariff is 47 – 64 Rs.

Can you please clarify what you think is not correct. If you’re looking for the meter reading 4.7 – the amount is Rs 63, which is correct as per our records.

I really dont understand meter reading.. I catch auto in mrg from Kandivlai to powai, even in trafic also i get stuck up, meter reading show 7.80, without trafic meter reading goes 7.30, same distance in evening meter reading goes till 9.00 or 9.30. Why there is lot of difference, can some one say me., plz revert me on same.
Please help me with this issue , what if I start my auto/taxi travel at 11.45pm and reach my destination at 00.15 , which fare i have to pay , normal or night fare .
