Mumbai locals are know to be very crowded, e specially during peak hours. If you’re new to the mumbai locals and are travelling during peak hour, it is important to know which side your platform will come, so you can start moving in that direction and its easier to get down.
If you’re not standing at the door, chances are you will not get a chance to get down at your destination and the crowd will take you to the next station.

I MANY A TIMES TRAVEL IN THE LOCAL TRAINS AND I AM GLAD ABOUT THE ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT TRAIN GOING TO PLATFORM 7 OR 8 IN BORIVALI STATION IS BEING ANNOUNCED RIGHT FROM MALAD STATION SOMETIMES AND ALWAYS FROM KANDIVALI STATION. GREAT. PARALLELY WOULD ALSO SUGGEST IRRESPECTIVE OF FAST OR SLOW TRAINS IF THE ANNOUNCEMENT IS ALSO MADE AS TO WHICH SIDE THE PLATFORM WILL COME AT THE NEXT ARRIVING STATION IT WILL BE A BENEFIT FOR THE PASSENGER TO MOVE ACCROSS THAT SIDE IN ADVANCE TO AVOID LAST MINUTE HASSLE.
