Nariman Point is Mumbai’s major business district. It is named after Khusheed Framji Nariman, a visionary Parsi, who proposed to reclaim the land from the sea in the year 1940. This place was filled with waters of the Arabian Sea until the land was reclaimed to build a series of skyscrappers which resemble Manhattans skyline. It is also known as ‘ a piece of Manhattan transported to mumbai’. This is the city’s commercial centre , full of luxurious restaurants and plush offices. Commercially it is one of the best and most expensive addresses in Mumbai – hectic by day but strangely deserted by night. It has the fifth costliest office rentals in the world.
You can find all the airline offices, most of the consulates and high commission of various countries here. Nariman Point also is home to Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and Vidhan sabha. Nariman point is a popular destination amongst the love birds of mumbai.
